Nyirád

Nyirád can be found at the south-western foot of the Bakony Hills. This small village is surrounded by forests from almost all sides. Most of these areas were declared protected in 2005, for they have unique geological, pedological and hydrographic conditions. The Nyirád Sárálló Nature Conservation Area has a varied and valuable flora, including the wild orchid, the primula or the pheasant’s eye. A protected karst water reservoir can be found under the surface. Besides natural resources, motor sports are also part of the village: a motor sport centre can be found approximately 5 kilometres from the village. The centre has a FIA off-road licence, which means that international rallycross and autocross races can be organised here. Besides visiting the races, you can also take part in pleasure rides.

How to come here

It is situated approximately 15 kilometres from Ajka, Tapolca, Devecser and Sümeg, so it is easily accessible by car and with regular bus and coach services. It does not have a railway station; the nearest railway station can be found in the aforementioned towns.
