Via Ferrata - Iron path

Via Ferrata, the first iron path of our country was inaugurated in Csesznek in the wonderful Kőmosó-ravine in 2013. Within the confines of an European Union project in 2015 were established new via ferrata routes in Csesznek and in the surrounding area. Some of the routes was built up in the Cuha valley, one of the most beautiful and most visited place of the area. There are some new routes in Kőmosó creek too, now more than 600 meter of via ferrata routes are waiting for the visitors. All of the routes are offering great pleasure for beginners, nature-lovers and „ferrata fans”.

CSESZNEK

Ostromlók Útja (Besieger's route)

The way starts from the centre of Kőmosó-ravine and it comes to an end at the foot of the Csesznek castle where you can get a fine view of the Castle panorama route and Zörög-peak.

Length: 120m, Vertical: 60m

It is offered for beginners and advancers as well.

Várpanoráma Út (Castle panorama route)

The way starts from the Kőmosó-ravine, exactly from the Szárító-stone. At the end of the course a lovely perspective of the Csesznek castle and the Besieger's route opens up before your eyes.

Length: 180m, Vertical: 62m

It is offered for advancers and pros as well.

Tálos Zoltán emlékút (Zoltán Tálos memorial route)

The way begins over the rest area of Kőmosó-ravine and it attaches to the Besieger's route then it ends at the foot of Csesznek castle where you can get a fine view of the Castle panorama route and Zörög-peak.

Length: 70m, Vertical: 57m

It is for pros and people with good condition.

It is recommended to wear climbing shoes.

MZ/X

The direct and extreme variant of the Várpanoráma route (Castle panorama route) and they are connecting at the half.

Length: 60m (160m to the end of the Várpanoráma route), Vertical: 55m

Using climbing shoes is highly recommended because of dirty, slippery rock.

This route is suggested to climb only well trained adventurers with good condition.

Futrinka Ucca (Futrinka Ucca route)

The easiest route especially built for children (from the age of 6, minimum 120 cm body height). Adventurous route with a rope brige offering happy minutes for absolute beginners.

Length: 100m, Vertical: 45m

Parental control is highly recommended.


CUHA-VALLEY

In the mysterious Cuha-valley there are two long ways where via ferrata lovers can go.

Bucsek Henrik emlékút (Henrik Bucsek memorial route)

Presently the longest via ferrata route of Hungary. This is the natural line of the ridge perpendicularly to the river channel. It leads through adventurous climbing up to the top of the ridge. The way down is very exciting with a quite ascent route and a vertical rive in the rock at the end. Climbing is prohibited during the period 15.02-15.07 because of wildbird protecting interests.

Length: 350m, Vertical: 40m

It is offered for beginners and advancers as well.

Ariadné fonala (Ariadne’s string)

The route leads through amazing and various environment offering excellent climb. Nice climb, which is not easy.

Length: 130m, Vertical: 40m

It is offered for advancers and pros as well.

Tour guiding can be required in Csesznek and Cuha-valley every weekend at 10 am and 2 pm.
